Morrison Springs

Packed up the kids and met some friends at Morrison Springs in Ponce de Leon, Florida.  I'm gonna say the water was beautiful but frigid.  Nonetheless we all had a great time at this natural spring that is actually only 15 minutes from our house.  The water was crystal clear and the smiles were endless and that's what summer should be.  Hope you enjoy the video and maybe I'll do another soon.  Next trip; maybe we'll go tubing or to Marianna Caverns.

It's been a while...

Well, I guess it's been a while since I did some stuff outside.  Grass is taking over my flower beds, my front door needs painting, and I need to pressure wash the porch.  That said I did cut the grass yesterday.  3 acres seems like a lot more when it's 103 outside.  I'm just saying, not complaining.  I did manage to scrub some grime of the porch this morning and kill a few wasps that were making nest on the front door.  Almost everyone uses the side entrance anyway.  But just in case Publisher's Clearing House shows up, I don't want them to be afraid to ring the doorbell.  :)  So apparently I need to go outside and enjoy nature a little more instead of soaking up all the bought air.  Hope everyone enjoys these hot days while they last.  Smile at a stranger... it may change their life.

I was just thinking today about myself.  Self reflection can be a very positive means to self improvement.  Saying this I determined that I am a happy procrastinator of all things work related, unless it means writing in which I write to give the voices in my head a chance to be heard.  If I were to speak such things I maybe considered crazy; so writing seems a smart choice. :)  Ok now that you know my secret I must also confess I have a lot to work on.  I want to be the mother that my mother has always been, the wife who adores her husband, the employee who loves her work and the friend who is always positive and friendly.  Ok so I have a long way to go on a few of those things, ok all of those things.  But what could be more fun than the journey.  Stay tuned.

What to do?

Ok, here's the dilemma.  I have an anniversary coming up the 22nd.  So what to do that my husband and I would both enjoy?  Hum.....  Pondering....  Still thinking...  Nope, I've got nothing.  Any ideas?

Great Place to Visit!

Yesterday was my son Eli's 5th birthday.  So we celebrated!  We spent the most wonderful afternoon at The Love Shack in Santa Rosa Beach, Fl.  What a great place for a birthday party.  The kids enjoyed the pool, everyone loved the food.  Outside bar for the adults.  We got cakes from The Donut Hole, (to die for black out cake) and a live band, who sang happy birthday to Eli.  Anyway... so much fun.  A must do with the family.  Don't forget the swim suites.

Beauty

True beauty is found when someone looks around and finds themselves inspired by what they perceive.  I want to be that person who inspires in others what they inspire in me.  That's the kind of beauty I want to possess.  Just a thought for anyones penny.

What is cuter than a specked puppy?  A potty trained speckled puppy.  Yeah; we aren't there yet.  The only reason they are so cute is to keep people from skinning them when they do their business in the house.  Just kidding, I could never hurt that little specked fur ball.

Wow ... Found in N.W. Florida

Valentine's Day is the day for love.  Love for life, love for family, love for your fellow man, and love for nature.  So in keeping with the theme of this blog, on Valentine's Day while I sat on the back porch watching my husband play softball with our three children I heard my 4 yr. old son (who was batting) exclaim; "Hey look at that eagle."  I automatically corrected without even looking, that's not an eagle when my husband said, oh yes it is.  As the huge bird approached the field behind our house you could see his white tail feathers and the white feathers on his head.  I was stunned, my girls delighted in watching it gracefully soar and land.  I ran for my camera but by the time I swapped the lenses it was too far away.  I think it was a blessing to see the magnificent bird and share the experience with the people I love.   I caught myself looking over the tops of the planted pines all afternoon wondering when the eagle would return, hoping it would return.

About me

Just a little background on this blog, so you will know what to expect, not that you should expect any certain format or topic but I started this blog to share the beauty of this area with those of you who have never been to this part of the country.  I live on a century pioneer farm; which is just a fancy way of saying my husbands family has owned this land for more that a hundred years.  The is beauty in the quiet moments on this farm and being rather close to the beaches of south walton, we have the best of both worlds.  I am no wonderful photographer, but I will share my photos with you.
